Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join a small, dynamic team in the Devon region. The role covers electronics design, embedded systems, IoT and certification, taking projects from prototype to market-ready products.

You will lead PCB design and work with 32-bit MCUs, IoT devices and embedded interfaces. The position offers hybrid/homeworking options and significance in ongoing product development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent industrial experience.
• Chartered Engineer or near-chartered status.
• Extensive hands-on experience with 32-bit MCUs and embedded systems.
• Experience with IoT devices and embedded interfaces.
• Strong PCB design experience, preferably Altium.
• Experience with SPICE and electronics simulations.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, EMC and radio standards.
• Experience taking products through testing and certification.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom PCBs for new products.
• Take concepts through prototypes to production-ready designs.
• Work with 32-bit MCUs, IoT devices and embedded communication systems.
• Lead technical communication with suppliers and external partners.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout product development.
• Carry out testing, fault finding and design optimisation.
• Lead product certification activities (IEC 61010, EMC).
• Prepare technical reports, specs and test documentation.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and other engineers.
• Support continuous improvement of current and future ranges.
