Job summary

Heated Mechanical Services in Coulsdon is seeking an experienced electrical professional to take on the Small Works Manager role. You will own several small projects across London and the South East, combining estimating, client management and delivery from enquiry through handover.

Ideal candidates are time-served electricians who have progressed to supervision or pricing, with City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, ECS/JIB Gold Card, and a proven ability to price from drawings.

Qualifications

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations – C&G 2382.
ECS/JIB Gold Card.
Strong commercial electrical installation experience.
Ability to survey a job and produce an accurate quotation.
Experience pricing electrical works from drawings and specifications.
Previous experience supervising, managing or taking ownership of your own jobs.
Good commercial awareness around labour, materials, variations and project margin.
Full UK driving licence.
Capability to manage several smaller projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Attend client sites to carry out surveys and establish the scope of required works.
Produce quotations and pricing electrical works up to approximately £50,000.
Pricing from site surveys, specifications and electrical drawings.
Planning labour, materials, access requirements and project programmes.
Coordinating electricians, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
Managing several live projects simultaneously and ensuring works remain on programme.
Monitoring project costs and protecting commercial margin throughout delivery.
Identifying, pricing and agreeing variations with clients.
Ordering materials and coordinating deliveries to site.
Liaising directly with clients, main contractors and other stakeholders.
Managing works within occupied and live commercial environments where disruption needs to be carefully controlled.
Ensuring works are completed safely and to the required quality standards.
Managing projects through completion, certification and final handover.
