Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical design delivery for municipal wastewater projects in the UK. The role focuses on coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring design quality, safety and client satisfaction within the Thames Water region.

The successful candidate will work autonomously, manage interfaces, review designs, provide documentation and contribute to value engineering while complying with UK standards and project programmes.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC or degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in water/wastewater is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, teamwork, problem resolution and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Full clean driving licence.
• Proficient in reviewing and understanding engineering drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review electrical outline and detailed design submissions.
• Work with design teams to produce design and construction drawings/documentation.
• Liaise between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers.
• Prepare scope documents and tender packages.
• Review subcontract tender and contract pricing.
• Develop Electrical Design Deliverables (SLD, Cable Schedules, Motor & Instrumentation Schedules, P&ID).
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors; issue purchase orders and sub-contracts.
• Manage site personnel and subcontractors per contract programme.
• Complete quality checks and prepare commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate project close-out and handover to end user.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and mitigate design risks.
• Engage with construction team to ensure practical designs and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with UK Water Industry standards, CESWI, WIMES, British Standards, Eurocodes.
• Adhere to design management procedures and QA processes.
• Build strong relationships with clients and regulators.
• Communicate progress, challenges and solutions to stakeholders.
