Job summary

JAB Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer for a defence/energy client in Inchinnan, near Glasgow. You will lead electrical engineering design solutions across new systems and products, support lifecycle activities from development to field upgrades, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, on-time, within-budget solutions.

The role requires strong electrical design experience, DC power systems, controls and instrumentation, experience with SolidWorks

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in subsea or naval defence projects preferred.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across new systems and products.
• Provide technical support to existing product ranges.
• Represent the company during customer design reviews, audits and acceptance testing.
• Review and approve drawings and technical documentation.
• Produce specifications, test procedures, certifications and reports.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, Software, Controls, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering teams.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
• Ensure engineering solutions are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join or Energy/Marine/Defence specialist client in Inchinnan, Glasgow.

This is a senior technical role leading electrical engineering design solutions and supporting products throughout their lifecycle — from new product development through to upgrades, modifications and field support.

• Electrical design input across new systems and products
• Technical support to existing product ranges
• Representing company during customer design reviews, audits and acceptance testing
• Reviewing and approving drawings and technical documentation
• Producing specifications, test procedures, certification and reports
• Working closely with Supply Chain, Production, Software, Controls, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering teams
• Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
Ensuring engineering solutions are delivered safely, on time and within budget

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong electrical design and manufacturing experience
• Experience with power systems, particularly DC systems, controls and instrumentation
• Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer
• SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD LT experience
• Experience producing engineering calculations, specifications and drawings
• Knowledge of design standards and CE compliance
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
• Experience within subsea or naval defence projects would be highly beneficial, along with hands‑on fault finding on complex electro‑mechanical systems. Candidates must also be able to obtain UK Security Clearance.
