Job summary

FINTEC recruit Ltd is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business in Aberdeen. This permanent role focuses on electrical/electronic design, technical documentation, and collaboration across teams.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience and a track record producing design calculations and documentation for compliant products.

Qualifications

• Electrical/electronics design experience required.
• Ability to produce design calculations and technical documentation.
• Experience with CAD and engineering design software.
• Knowledge of relevant design standards.

Job description

We are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business in Aberdeen. This permanent role will suit a practical, detail-focused engineer with experience in electrical/electronic design and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide electrical design support for new and existing products.
• Respond to technical queries and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Prepare and check drawings, specifications, reports, test procedures and certification.
• Work with internal teams to source components, create bills of materials and support delivery.
• Ensure work meets relevant standards, regulations, timescales and budgets.

You will be confident working independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills, accuracy and the ability to manage changing priorities.

Key skills and experience

• Electrical/electronics design experience.
• Ability to produce design calculations and technical documentation.
• Experience with CAD and engineering design software.
• Knowledge of relevant design standards.
• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with DC systems, PLM systems, marine or defence standards would be advantageous.
