Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical packages on Central London projects for a leading M&E contractor. You will own design development, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

You will work with Project Managers, consultants and subcontractors, coordinating design information, reviewing drawings, and managing procurement, QA/QC, and health & safety on site.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS, SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification.
• Strong electrical building services experience.
• Desirable: Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Desirable: BIM/3D coordination experience.
• Desirable: IEng or CEng status, or working towards professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Leading the coordination and management of electrical design information
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions
• Managing technical queries, RFIs and design changes
• Managing electrical procurement packages, supplier selection and technical evaluations
• Reviewing and approving shop drawings, material submissions and method statements
• Planning and tracking electrical works against programme
• Identifying labour requirements, project risks and recovery actions
• Overseeing electrical installations to ensure quality, productivity and compliance
• Managing material take-offs and procurement schedules
• Leading electrical BIM coordination and clash resolution
• Coordinating electrical interfaces with mechanical, structural and architectural teams
• Managing QA/QC processes, ITPs, inspections and NCR close-out
• Leading testing and commissioning activities, including FATs and integrated systems testing
• Providing technical and commercial input into variations
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and site teams
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety throughout project delivery

Senior Electrical Project Engineer

Sphere Solutions are working with a leading M&E contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join their expanding London operations.

The successful candidate will be working across prestigious and technically challenging projects in Central London, including major schemes at the British Museum, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer looking to take technical ownership of substantial electrical packages from design development and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning and final handover.

The Role

As Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will act as the lead electrical engineer on your project, working closely with Project Managers, construction teams, consultants, specialist subcontractors and the wider MEP team.

Qualifications

Essential:

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent
• CSCS, SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification
• Strong electrical building services experience

Desirable:

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• BIM/3D coordination experience
• IEng or CEng status, or currently working towards professional registration
