Job summary

L.J.B & Co. Construction Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer for a major London project. The role is site-based, overseeing electrical design through to handover, with responsibility for procurement, installation, commissioning, RAMS and HSE compliance.

You will coordinate with project management, design and supply chain teams, lead electrical activities on site and mentor junior engineers while delivering safely, efficiently and to high standards.

Senior Electrical Project Engineer - London

Salary: £80,000-£90,000 + Accommodation + Benefits

A leading international MEP engineering and construction contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join a major commercial project in London.

This is a key site-based position, taking responsibility for electrical delivery from technical design and procurement through installation, commissioning and handover.

You’ll work closely with the project management, design and supply chain teams while leading electrical engineering activities and helping ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical design, installation and commissioning activities.
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve electrical and technical issues efficiently.
• Manage procurement from initial enquiry through to delivery on site.
• Monitor electrical works against the construction programme.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Lead supply chain coordination meetings and track progress.
• Review technical information, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure electrical installations meet project requirements and relevant standards.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Prepare and review RAMS and ensure strong HSE standards are maintained.
• Monitor quality and progress of electrical works on site.
• Support project close‑out, reporting and handover documentation.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and wider project team.
• Mentor and support Junior Electrical Engineers.

About You

• Strong technical background in electrical engineering within construction.
• Experience delivering electrical packages on large-scale commercial or complex projects.
• Good understanding of electrical design, installation and commissioning.
• Strong commercial awareness within construction projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage technical issues and drive solutions on site.
• Previous experience working for an MEP contractor would be advantageous.
• Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical or other technically complex project experience would be highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous construction industry experience.
• Relevant electrical engineering experience within a project environment
