Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority seeks a senior electrical engineering lead to steer delivery of complex power distribution projects at Culham Campus. You will provide senior technical direction, manage interfaces across disciplines and drive safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

The role is onsite with regular-site presence and a maternity-cover fixed-term appointment. You will mentor engineers and shape future site power network developments while upholding the organisation’s ED&I

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering complex electrical projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering design processes and standards.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of medium-scale and complex electrical projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Provide technical direction across work packages and interfaces across disciplines.
• Define requirements, scope and technical solutions meeting quality and budget targets.
• Oversee design, procurement, manufacture, installation, commissioning, repair and upgrade of electrical systems.
• Lead design analyses, feasibility studies and technical reviews to support decisions.
• Develop technical reports, presentations and papers on project plans and risks.
• Produce feasibility studies for future site power network developments.
• Line manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of up to eight staff.
• Develop junior engineers and apprentices through coaching and feedback.
• Improve engineering practices and promote safe working and equality, diversity and inclusion.
