Job summary

A Senior Electrical Project Engineer is sought for a high-profile project at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, with transition to Sizewell C from January 2027. The role is Inside IR35, umbrella, initial six months with a 12+ month assignment.

The successful candidate will lead major electrical packages from concept through handover, develop execution strategies, coordinate diverse teams, and ensure safety and quality in a nuclear environment.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience delivering electrical projects in regulated sectors (infrastructure, energy, nuclear).
• Proven track record from design through handover with leadership and commercial awareness.
• Proficient in coordination, stakeholder management and client-facing activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of major electrical packages from concept through handover.
• Develop and implement package execution strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve project delivery objectives.
• Serve as principal client/stakeholder contact and maintain effective communication.
• Monitor performance against budget, programme, and commercial targets; manage risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major electrical packages from concept through to handover, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
• Develop and implement package execution strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project delivery, establishing priorities that align with broader programme objectives.
• Serve as the principal point of contact for clients and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
• Monitor project performance against budget, programme, and commercial targets, while managing risks and opportunities.
• Champion a strong Zero Harm and Nuclear Safety Culture, promoting compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

• A degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in delivering electrical projects within highly regulated sectors such as infrastructure, energy, or nuclear.
• A proven track record of managing projects from design through to handover, demonstrating strong leadership and commercial awareness.
• Proficiency in project coordination, stakeholder management, and client-facing roles, with a solid understanding of quality assurance and compliance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience within Nuclear New Build or similar environments.
• Knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with safety-critical and nuclear-grade equipment and systems.
• APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent Project Management qualification is desirable.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards professional accreditation.
