Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to join the Data Center Power and Control Starline Team in Reading, UK. You will improve manufacturing operations for busway plugs, feeds, and track bar/straight products, combining hands‑on process engineering with low‑voltage power system knowledge.

Will drive safety, quality, throughput, and first‑time yield through robust processes and toolings. Qualifications include a degree in Electrical/Manufacturing/ Electromechanical engineering and 3+

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing/process engineering for electrical products.
• Strong knowledge of low‑voltage power systems and components.
• Ability to read and apply electrical drawings and BOMs in builds.
• Experience specifying and using electrical assembly tooling and improving process capability.
• Experience in a high‑mix assembly environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean/CI tools; IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 is a plus.
• Experience with MES (eFlex or similar) and basic data analysis (Excel/Power BI) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve assembly processes for busway plugs, feeds, and track bar/straight products.
• Develop, maintain, and improve standard work and visual work instructions.
• Read electrical drawings and translate into safe shop‑floor build standards.
• Validate BOM accuracy and drive closure of discrepancies.
• Standardize wiring/assembly tooling and ensure calibration routines.
• Design or commission fixtures to improve repeatability and reduce variation.
• Support test cell processes and up‑stream controls for 100% tested products.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support ECO/deviations by ensuring alignment of drawings, BOMs, and test requirements.
• Provide hands‑on floor support to resolve daily production issues.
• Conduct time studies and apply Lean principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.
