First Recruitment Group seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead high-value electrical tenders in Burton upon Trent. You will work with commercial and technical teams to develop competitive solutions and drive accurate estimating to support growth.

Role involves client liaison, bid preparation, cost estimation, and value engineering while managing commercial risk and governance through the tender lifecycle.

Formación

• Electrical background in Building Services/MEP required.
• Experience in electrical estimating or strong commercial awareness.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications.
• High-level design input for containment and LV systems where needed.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills essential.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence working across multiple teams with stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

• Act as main client contact throughout bid process.
• Review tender drawings and prepare quantity take-offs.
• Issue enquiries to the supply chain and assess quotes.
• Build detailed cost estimates using estimating software.
• Support value engineering and bid optimisation activities.
• Identify and manage commercial risk in estimating.
• Prepare and present bids for internal approval and client submission.
• Produce final tender documentation.
• Support contract reviews, negotiations and governance.
• Manage contract terms, warranties and obligations.
• Contribute to commercial strategy and margin improvement initiatives.

Take the lead on high-value electrical bids and help shape winning tender strategies in a growing engineering business.

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Estimator, who will be required to work on a permanent basis in Burton upon Trent.

Role Purpose

Lead the preparation and delivery of high-quality electrical tenders and bids. Work closely with commercial and technical teams to develop competitive and innovative solutions. Support business growth through accurate estimating and effective bid management. Identify opportunities for value engineering and commercial improvement. Manage client relationships throughout the tendering process.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact with clients throughout the bid process.
• Review tender drawings and prepare accurate quantity take-offs.

• Build detailed cost estimates using estimating software.
• Support value engineering and bid optimisation activities.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

• Electrical background within Building Services / MEP.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
