Job summary

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join a Derbyshire-based team. The role is permanent with an immediate start subject to interview, offering a salary of £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience.

You will produce high‑value quotations, ensure BS EN 61439 compliance, manage pre‑order quotation processes, and support the Sales/Engineering teams with technical submissions and pricing for tenders.

Qualifications

• Experience producing detailed quotations within BS EN guidelines.
• Experience with ISO9001 quality management is expected.
• Strong communication with customers to resolve conflicts.
• Familiar with electrical infrastructure and schematics.

Senior Electrical Estimator

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Estimator for a permanent position based with our Derbyshire.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Salary is between £45,000 to £55,000 pre annum (depending on experience and skillset)

Responsible for:

• Producing detailed quotations ensuring all products are within the company's catalogue, to specification and following the BS EN guidelines.
• Quote Management pre order and for the Estimating component within the company's Quality Management System, including development, compliance and auditing, in accordance with the ISO9001 standard and end to end process.
• Ensuring that technical documents and records are generated for all quotations in accordance with the company's Quality Management System. Ensuring compliance and providing certification to BS EN 61439 (if applicable).
• Liaising with customer's pre-order, including resolving commercial or technical conflicts.
• Provision of contractual, financial and technical assistance as necessary to the Sales Team/Engineering Team, including Technical Submissions and pricing information for quotation purposes and variations to ongoing Projects.

Occupational Skills:

• A high standard of general education with proven written and verbal communication skills.
• High level Experience of a Switchgear Engineering/Estimating function within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with electrical infrastructure, electrical principles, electrical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High level knowledge of BS EN 61439
• Excellent product knowledge of Switchboards including control circuitry and ancillary items such as Auto Changer Over Systems and Power factor Correction.
• Previous experience as an Electrical or Senior Electrical Estimator.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Produce high level, accurate and timely quotations to the client of high value.
• To interpret customer requirements and technical specifications to produce technical documents / records for all quotations that are suitable and sufficient for tender, and in accordance with the company's Quality Management System
• Ensuring that all products are quoted in accordance with BS EN 61439
• Be an integral member of the Estimating team helping shape the future of the business, providing performance data to both the Board and the Estimating Director.
• Identify and report areas where staff usage, product and/or process efficiencies can be improved.
• Enforce all Health and Safety matters relative to the area.
• Provision of contractual, financial and technical assistance to the Sales /Engineering Teams, including Technical Submissions and pricing information for quotation purposes.
• Managing and liaising with customers pre-order, including resolving commercial or technical conflicts.
• Responsible for quotes at the 'higher end' of complexity and difficulty.

Housekeeping & Hygiene

• To ensure that your areas of responsibility are always kept clean and tidy.
• To ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in good repair at all times.

Health & Safety

• To ensure that all the regulations relating to the safe operation and maintenance of equipment and plant are adhered to.
• To ensure that the company's Health & Safety policy is applied at all times by yourself and all staff within your area of responsibility.

Other Duties

• To maintain daily communication with the various sales, planning and production departments and any other staff who impact on your area of control.
• To act appropriately with members of the wider team to support the 'one team' ethos of the business.
• To promote the company image as professional and positive both internally and externally at all times.
