Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Water Team across our North and Midlands offices, with a flexible hybrid working model. You will contribute to electrical design for wastewater and water infrastructure, lead project delivery and mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates hold a BEng/MEng in engineering, Chartered status or near‑Chartered, and have experience in client liaison, bid support, and delivering high‑quality technical reports and drawings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables.
• Chartered or nearing chartered status in a relevant institution.
• Experience managing projects and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across water/wastewater projects.
• Engage in multiple design stages from feasibility to construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with discipline teams.
• Support bids and client proposals, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs.
