Job summary

Vital Energi is seeking Senior and Principal Electrical Design Engineers to join its Project Delivery teams in London, Blackburn or Glasgow. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept to handover on renewable energy and low-carbon infrastructure projects.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation, supporting innovative solutions and continuous improvement while advancing through senior

Qualifications

• Experience producing electrical designs for renewable energy and power infrastructure.
• Design LV/MV distribution systems with cable sizing and technical specs.
• Knowledge of substations, transformers, switchgear and protection systems.
• Experience producing electrical calculations, single-line diagrams, schematics and layouts.
• Understanding BS7671 and industry standards.
• Experience using Amtech, AutoCAD or ETAP is advantageous.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems (BESS, solar PV) and grid connections would be advantageous.
• Experience on DNO/IDNO/ICP or utility infrastructure projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs and technical documentation for renewable energy and decarbonisation projects.
• Produce deliverables ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct electrical system studies and equipment sizing for safe, efficient project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and engineering assurance activities.
• Support projects from concept through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Drive engineering excellence and share knowledge across the business.
