Job summary

EDF power solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead technical delivery across a portfolio of renewable energy projects, from development through to handover. The role blends design, construction and commissioning with site visits and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

You will influence engineering standards, review outputs, and support optioning and feasibility studies while travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering infrastructure or energy projects across development, design, construction and commissioning phases.
• Strong grounding in electrical engineering systems design, ideally for renewable energy (high voltage, protection and control, power electronics, SCADA).
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating interfaces across civil, mechanical, control and commercial disciplines.
• Knowledge of UK standards, regulations and grid requirements for renewable energy projects.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support across solar PV, battery storage, private wire and wind projects.
• Support projects through development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Review and assure engineering outputs from consultants, contractors and OEMs.
• Assist with optioneering and feasibility assessments for practical, viable solutions.
• Contribute to engineering standards, technical specifications and employer requirements.
• Support procurement through technical tender assessments.
• Identify and manage engineering risks in line with project needs.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and project teams.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across projects.
• Represent EDF power solutions in technical discussions with external stakeholders.
