Job summary

ABB Limited in Warrington is seeking an experienced Design Authority for electrical engineering. You will lead electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards, while mentoring teams and coordinating with manufacturing, testing and commissioning.

The role emphasizes delivering innovative solutions, cost-effective planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the design of power and control systems incorporating variable speed drives.
• Experience as a System Design Engineer working with variable speed drive and motor technologies.
• Proficient in electrical design software, particularly ePLAN.

Responsibilities

• Lead design work for electrical engineering projects in a cost-effective manner.
• Create work plans and cost estimates for project portfolios.
• Execute engineering elements and produce design and test documentation.
• Coordinate with functions to manufacture, test, install and commission designs.
• Coach engineers on translating concepts to engineering documentation and best practices.
• Support FAT/SAT and resolve technical issues to meet performance targets.
• Collaborate across disciplines to implement design improvements for reliability and efficiency.
