As we prepare for AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we will deliver a broad range of innovative, environmentally-driven infrastructure projects, from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.

In this role, you’ll review electrical design deliverables, ensure they meet high standards, and support and lead senior electrical engineers. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and lead innovation in sustainable practices, helping reduce carbon footprints and tackle climate change. What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to manage quality, time, and cost during electrical design review.
• Ensure electrical deliverables, including LV installations and instrumentation specifications, meet standards and project requirements.
• Review and verify electrical designs, schematics, cable calculations, and contractor submissions.
• Respond promptly to construction site design queries and manage change requests.
• Support resource planning, recruitment, and performance management of electrical engineers.
• Lead health and safety compliance, including CDM participation and adherence to electrical standards.
• Mentor and develop junior staff, including graduates and apprentices.
• Drive innovation by adopting digital technologies and supporting sustainable, low-carbon design practices.

What you’ll bring:

• An engineering degree or equivalent experience demonstrating degree-level ability.
• Experience with water-sector assets and capital projects.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience in a Design & Build environment is advantageous but not essential.
