Lead Electrical Engineer (@one Alliance)

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

The Vacancy

Binnies an RSK Group company is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join us as part of our @one Alliance.

What will you be doing as our new Lead Electrical Engineer?

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical direction to discipline engineers, support design schemes, and ensure all designs comply with legislation and standards.

You will review electrical design deliverables, ensure adherence to processes, and mentor junior team members.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Report regularly to the Principal Engineer.
2. Collaborate with project managers for milestones and review dates.
3. Check specifications, drawings, and models for quality and safety.
4. Mentor junior electrical engineers.
5. Review site queries and change requests for accuracy and suitability.
6. Participate in construction management and commissioning meetings.
7. Suggest improvements with the Principal Engineer and Design Managers.
8. Liaise across departments on design requirements.
9. Manage quality through design reviews aligned with project timelines.
10. Support other engineers in delivering quality outputs on time.
11. Promote sustainability and low-carbon designs.
12. Encourage offsite build, modular construction, and repeatable solutions.

Skills, Experience, and Behaviours

You should have an engineering degree or equivalent experience, preferably Chartered or working towards it. Experience in water-sector projects, knowledge of regulations, standards, and codes is essential. Mentoring experience is a plus. Knowledge of Design & Build environments is advantageous.

Leadership qualities include integrity, ethical conduct, respect, effective communication, emotional intelligence, decision-making, and technical expertise to select appropriate design methods.
