Hoare Lea, a leading engineering consultancy, seeks an Associate or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to deliver high-quality, sustainable electrical design across building services projects in the UK. Based in Reading or Bournemouth, you will lead client relationships and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.

This senior role focuses on project delivery, commercial awareness, and growth, with opportunities to shape a high-performing local team and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status for Senior Associate; desirable/working towards for Associate.
• Extensive project and client leadership experience.
• Strong technical competence in electrical building services.
• Ability to lead integrated design teams, coordinate with other disciplines.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Demonstrable commercial awareness and risk management.
• Proven people leadership; leads projects or local teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact for projects; define briefs and represent Hoare Lea.
• Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate project teams; host internal project meetings.
• Deliver profitable, high-quality schemes; monitor costs.
• Delegate and review work; staff development.
• Maintain awareness of procurement routes and risks.
• Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and standards compliance.
• Build relationships with clients and contractors for repeat business.
