Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer for the Bournemouth or Reading offices. The role focuses on delivering high quality, sustainable electrical engineering solutions across multiple built environment projects.

You will join a collaborative team, own project deliverables, mentor junior staff and liaise with clients and contractors, while developing technical and commercial skills in a supportive, hybrid working culture.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Building Services Engineering.
• Working towards or holding IEng/CEng.
• Strong technical competence in LV distribution, lighting, earthing/protection and emergency/standby systems.

Responsibilities

• Take briefs and deliver electrical design work from inception through to completion.
• Produce electrical calculations, drawings and technical documentation that comply with relevant regulations and client standards.
• Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines (MEP) and third‑party consultants.
• Attend and report at design team meetings, client meetings and project meetings.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities and support handover documentation.
