Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Plymouth or Exeter offices. You will lead electrical design across diverse building projects within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team and contribute to design excellence.

The role offers mentoring of apprentices and graduates, regular client engagement, and the chance to work within a well-established Southwest practice known for award-winning projects and a supportive, flexible culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer delivering complex projects.
• Experience with modern technical delivery processes.
• Experience collaborating with clients, contractors and architects.
• Self-awareness, open-mindedness and generosity.
• Experience mentoring apprentices and graduates.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day electrical design delivery for multi-disciplinary projects.
• Develop initial strategic concepts aligned to brief and standards.
• Interact with stakeholders; attend project meetings and communicate briefs.
• Monitor resources and expenditure with the team leader.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates.
