Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Plymouth or Exeter offices. You will deliver electrical design for complex built-environment projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team across the Southwest and beyond.

You will lead concept development, ensure regulatory compliance, and engage with clients, contractors, and architects. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a high-performing, flexible culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering electrical design for complex projects.
• Experience working with clients/contractors/architects in a design-oriented/consultant role.
• Familiarity with modern technical delivery processes and relevant software/tools.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of electrical design for multi-disciplinary projects across several sectors.
• Lead development of initial strategic concepts ensuring compliance with the brief and regulations.
• Interact with internal/external stakeholders, attend project meetings, and translate the brief within the project team.
• Work with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
• Mentor and support junior professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
