Job summary

NES Group Ltd in Dorset, UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support safe, reliable operation of a major oil and gas facility. You will provide technical leadership across electrical maintenance, asset integrity and continuous improvement, working with maintenance technicians and contractors.

The role covers HV/LV distribution, protection, fault analysis and compliance with ATEX and process safety standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years' electrical engineering experience including 5+ years in oil & gas or hazardous environments.
Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, protection and switching operations.
Experience with fault diagnosis and plant modifications.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for electrical plant breakdowns, fault investigations and reliability improvements.
Develop, review and optimise preventative maintenance strategies.
Support operation, maintenance and integrity of HV/LV distribution systems, motors, VSDs, UPS and related equipment.
Plan and deliver electrical projects, upgrades and minor plant modifications.
Carry out electrical calculations, assessments and design reviews.
Lead electrical incident investigations and corrective actions.
Ensure ATEX compliance and hazardous area classifications.
Participate in HAZOP, LOPA and risk assessments.
Review equipment specifications, procurement and spare parts inventories.
Coordinate with maintenance teams and contractors for safe work planning.
Review and approve electrical drawings and documentation.
Support regulatory compliance and mentor electrical technicians.
