Job summary

National Gas, Britain's national gas network, is seeking an experienced Engineering SME to provide technical leadership and assurance across major capital projects. You will guide design, compliance, and best practice throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes for customers.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (BEng or equivalent) or able to demonstrate equivalent engineering experience.
• Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards professional registration.
• Proven experience within a project delivery environment with LV/HV systems knowledge.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and regulatory requirements in a regulated engineering setting.

Responsibilities

• Challenge and review interventions and project scopes at key investment milestones.
• Develop and manage standard design packages and value initiatives.
• Respond to technical queries and deviations to technical standards.
• Capture lessons learned and drive efficiencies in design solutions.
• Review and implement technical standards and coordinate innovative methods.
