Job summary

The Dow Chemical Company in Barry, South Wales, United Kingdom seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical systems at a major silicone facility. You will support Operations and Maintenance, ensuring compliance with Electrical Safe Work Standards and regulatory requirements.

You will develop standards, lead fault analysis, and mentor teams while advancing safety, reliability and asset performance. Chartered status is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years in operational, high-hazard industrial facilities (chemical/petrochemical).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support for equipment failures and reliability initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain and implement standards for electrical design and maintenance.
  • Ensure protection settings are accurate for reliability.
  • Maintain and update electrical engineering documentation for the site.
  • Support site implementation of Dow's Global Electrical Safe Work Standards with EH&S.
  • Monitor site compliance with industry codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with Electrical Safety & Reliability Assessments (ESRA) and major maintenance events.
