Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Building Services design for a contract role in Manchester. You will deliver electrical design for major construction projects and coordinate across M&E and BIM teams, working with clients and architects to achieve compliant, high-quality solutions.

This position offers a 12-month+ contract with a weekly presence in the Manchester office and a rate of up to £50 per hour (Inside IR35).

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• CIBSE or IET member (or working towards Chartership).
• Experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP).
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Electrical design for major construction projects.
• Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions.
• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures.
• Support cost planning, estimates, and pre-construction activities.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required.

• Location: Manchester (1x a week in the office)
