Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer in Building Services to lead electrical design on high-value construction projects in Manchester. The role includes coordinating with M&E, BIM, and other disciplines, while ensuring compliant, high-quality specifications and technical solutions.

You will work on medium to large-scale projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to innovative, sustainable design approaches.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering is required.
• Experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP) and ability to deliver medium to large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit and design coordination is expected.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Electrical design for major construction projects.
• Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions.
• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.).

Are you a senior Electrical Engineer in Building Service Design and looking to work on some exciting projects? Do you want a contract role with variety?

You could work for a leading Building Services contractor, with a national presence with the following details; Location: Manchester (1x a week in the office) Rate: Up to £50 per hour (Inside IR35) Duration: 12 months +

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Electrical design for major construction projects
• Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions
• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• CIBSE / IET member (or working towards Chartership)
• Strong experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP)
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale projects
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
