Job summary

Carrington West invites applications for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Building Services Design based in Leeds. The role is a contract position with varied projects and a weekly one-day office presence in Leeds.

The role offers up to £55 per hour Inside IR35 for a 12-month+ engagement, with the flexibility to contribute to high-value, complex building services projects and guide junior engineers where needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Electrical design for major construction projects.
• Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions.
• Work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate designs across disciplines (M&E, BIM, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures.
• Support cost planning, estimates, and pre-construction activities.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required.

Are you a senior Electrical Engineer in Building Service Design and looking to work on some exciting projects? Do you want a contract role with variety?

You could work for a leading Building Services contractor, with a national presence with the following details;

Location: Leeds (1x a week in the office)

Rate: Up to £55 per hour (Inside IR35)

Duration: 12 months +

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• CIBSE / IET member (or working towards Chartership)
• Strong experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP)
• Experience delivering medium to large-scale projects
• Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
