ETA Projects Ltd, part of the BRUSH Group, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead compliant strategies across complex buildings. You will prepare evidence and calculations for renewable and low-energy solutions, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

The role is hybrid, with a focus on delivering high-quality electrical design and project leadership across healthcare environments and other sectors.

Qualifications

• HNC/Degree qualification in Electrical or building services.
• Chartered Engineer or awaiting confirmation after submission.
• Professional membership of CIBSE, IET, IMechE or IHEEM.
• Proven electrical building services design experience across multiple sectors, healthcare included.
• Senior Engineer level experience or equivalent.
• Mentoring of junior staff.
• Client relationship building and strong communication with design teams and clients.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, Excel, MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical system designs and specifications, including calculations and reviews.
• Act as project leader on projects.
• Perform technical reviews and audits of electrical designs by others.
• Prepare technical reports and undertake site surveys.
• Coordinate with external design teams and internal disciplines.

What's the role?

ETA are a Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) engineering design consultancy currently undertaking projects involving a vast array of engineering services in complex buildings. Many of the projects are designed to achieve BREEAM targets and compliance with The London Plan.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development and implementation of compliant strategies within our projects. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while shaping the next generation of engineering talent. The senior engineer will be responsible for preparing, presenting evidence and supporting information and calculations for renewable and low energy solutions.

The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of performing in a client-facing role collaborating with client representatives and other design team members and also working collaboratively with a team which would comprise mechanical, electrical, public health and sustainability (thermal modelling) on a project-by-project basis

Working Conditions

- Hybrid working (typical 3 days office , 2 days at home ) 37.5 contractual hours per week Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Production of electrical system designs and specifications, including producing design calculations and review of electrical system designs and specifications
• Acting as a project leader on projects
• Technical review, auditing, and commenting on electrical system designs and specifications undertaken by others (internal team members and external contractors)
• Production of technical reports
• Undertake site surveys
• Coordination with external design teams; architectural, structural, PQS, CDM, and others and internal team; CAD, Revit, electrical, public health, sustainability disciplines.
• Inputting into practice improvements in work methods and delivery
• Collaborating with Associate Directors and Directors in identifying and implementing new work practices and innovation.
• Ability to lead on multiple projects consecutively
• Attending meetings and delivering client presentations.
• Raising/promoting the level of technical excellence within the team.
• Monitoring project costs and time
• Maintaining project deliverables

What we’re looking for

• HNC/Degree qualification - Electrical or building services
• Chartered Engineer or awaiting confirmation following recent submission
• Professional membership of relevant institute (CIBSE, IET, IMechE, IHEEM)
• Proven electrical building services design experience across multiple sectors, with demonstrable experience in healthcare environments.
• Operating at Senior Engineer role or similar
• Previous experience of mentoring of junior staff
• Client relationship building skills.
• Excellent communication skills to confidently impact design team meetings as well as build and sustain a strong relationship between your team and the end client.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, Excel, MS Project and others
• Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents
• Knowledge of HTMs would also be beneficial
