Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Nottingham team. You will lead electrical design across a varied workload including logistics, education, residential, leisure, and public sector projects.

You’ll engage in full RIBA stages from concept to completion and build strong client relationships. The role requires Revit proficiency, solid UK consultancy experience, and excellent communication with the design team and contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Solid UK consultancy experience in electrical building services design.
• Comfortable in Revit and able to run projects.
• Strong communication with architects, contractors, clients and the design team.
• Chartered or working towards it is welcome.

Responsibilities

Senior Electrical Engineer

Nottingham

circa £50,000 + Flexible Hybrid

Some consultancies talk about collaboration on their website and then sit their engineers in a corner with a Revit model and no one to talk to. This isn't one of those.

I'm working with a young, independent building services consultancy in Nottingham city centre. Started a few years ago by a group of directors who wanted to do things their own way, they've grown quickly to around 30 people across two offices, mostly through clients who followed them because they liked working with them. They're now looking to add a Senior Electrical Engineer to the Nottingham team.

The Role

I’ll lead electrical design on a varied workload, plus a growing mix of everything in between:

• Large scale logistics and industrial warehouses, with a serious pipeline currently in orders
• Education projects from primary through to higher education
• Residential, including student accommodation, PRS and care homes
• Leisure centres (wet and dry), offices, civic and public sector buildings
• Full RIBA stage involvement, from concept through to completion, with a proper peer review and QA process behind the design
• Everything is done in Revit
• A genuinely client facing role. They want you leading meetings, building relationships and being the person clients ask for by name

About You

• Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• Solid UK consultancy experience in electrical building services design, with the confidence to run projects
• Comfortable in Revit (or happy to get there quickly)
• A good communicator who enjoys working with architects, contractors, clients and the wider design team
• Chartered or working towards it is welcome, but not essential. Attitude and ability matter more here than letters
