The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Senior Electrical Engineers to join a major engineering team supporting the delivery of large and complex construction projects. Based in Speke, Liverpool, with hybrid working available, the client is also open to candidates working from its other offices, including Manchester and Leeds. The successful candidates will take responsibility for the preparation and delivery of high-quality electrical designs and technical advice, leading electrical design activities from concept through to construction.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary environment, you will provide technical leadership, develop sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions, coordinate design activities and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client requirements, relevant standards and applicable design procedures.

Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and surrounding areas, with hybrid working available depending on project requirements.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Lead electrical design activities across allocated large and complex construction projects.
- Prepare high-quality electrical designs, specifications and technical documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Provide high-level technical advice in electrical building services engineering.
- Undertake and lead professional engineering services across allocated projects and clients.
- Represent electrical engineering at project design meetings, developing solutions, agreeing concepts and coordinating with wider design disciplines.
- Lead the delivery of coordinated electrical design solutions through to project completion and construction.
- Lead, support and coordinate electrical design teams working on complex projects.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, architects and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure effective communication and design coordination.
- Coordinate electrical designs with other engineering and design disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Develop and promote engineering standards, technical procedures and best practice.
- Develop innovative and sustainable solutions to enhance M&E services, including the implementation of initiatives such as BIM.
- Prepare budget costs and pre-tender estimates where required.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant building regulations, industry standards and applicable design procedures.
- Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges throughout the design and construction phases.
- Promote sustainable and cost-effective design solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and share knowledge of relevant professional and technical standards.
- Provide effective communication to senior management regarding project output, progress, cost and risks.
- Apply all relevant health, safety and quality requirements throughout project delivery.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Building Services Engineering or an equivalent relevant discipline.
- Membership of CIBSE or IET.
- Chartered Engineer status, or demonstrable progress towards chartership.
- Significant experience in electrical building services engineering, with the technical capability to fulfil the responsibilities of a senior engineering role.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience delivering electrical designs for large and complex construction projects.
- Proven experience leading electrical design activities and supporting or managing electrical design teams.
- Experience coordinating electrical engineering solutions within multidisciplinary project environments.
- Strong understanding of quality procedures, engineering documentation and document control.
- Experience developing budget costs and pre-tender estimates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to a wider business audience.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain BPSS requirements.
