Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services & Critical Infrastructure

London | Hybrid

£57,000 - £70,000 DOE + Benefits + Yearly Bonus

Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer looking to take a lead role delivering technically complex building-services designs across private healthcare critical environments?

You’ll join a specialist MEP engineering consultancy delivering projects across hospitals, healthcare estates & other complex buildings. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle, from initial surveys & feasibility through detailed design, construction & handover, with genuine technical ownership & a clear route towards Principal level.

Responsibilities:

• Leading electrical building-services designs from feasibility through to detailed design & construction
• Designing LV distribution, lighting, small power, standby generation, UPS, earthing, fire alarm & associated electrical systems
• Producing electrical calculations, specifications, technical reports, drawings & tender documentation
• Undertaking site surveys & assessing existing electrical installations
• Developing solutions for new-build, refurbishment & infrastructure-upgrade projects
• Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, public health, architectural & structural disciplines
• Liaising directly with clients, contractors & wider project stakeholders
• Reviewing contractor proposals, technical submissions & value-engineering options
• Supporting projects through construction, commissioning & handover
• Mentoring junior engineers & supporting technical development across the team

Experience:

• Strong electrical building-services design experience within an engineering consultancy
• Good technical knowledge across LV distribution, lighting, small power, emergency/standby power & associated building systems
• Experience producing calculations, specifications, reports & tender documentation
• Working knowledge of electrical design software such as Amtech/Trimble, Dialux or equivalent
• Strong understanding of UK electrical standards & regulations
• Healthcare experience would be particularly advantageous, although experience across other complex building environments will be considered
• MIET, IEng, CEng or progression towards professional registration would be beneficial

This is a building-services/MEP design position, suited to an engineer from an MEP consultancy background. It is not an installation, maintenance, SAP, commissioning or field-service position.
