Aldwych Consulting, a longstanding building services consultancy, is recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across diverse projects in the UK. The role spans HV/LV infrastructure, lighting, containment and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to a varied workload including data centres. The position offers a salary of £75,000-£80,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits.

An established and highly regarded building services consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team. With over 30 years of experience delivering complex engineering projects across the UK and internationally, the business works across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, defence and data centres.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, close-knit engineering team where you will have exposure to exciting projects, including data centre developments, alongside a varied portfolio of wider building-services work.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play an important role in the delivery of electrical building-services design across a variety of projects, working closely with colleagues, clients, architects and wider design teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and delivering electrical engineering design across a range of building-services projects.
• Producing detailed electrical designs, specifications, calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Working on electrical distribution systems, including HV/LV infrastructure, lighting, small power, containment and associated building-services systems.
• Providing input into projects involving data centres and other technically demanding environments.
• Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, public health, fire engineering and wider project disciplines.
• Liaising directly with clients, contractors, architects and other design consultants.
• Attending design meetings and contributing to the successful delivery of projects from initial concept through to completion.
• Reviewing technical information, resolving design issues and ensuring solutions are practical, compliant and deliverable.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and helping develop the wider team.

About You

We are keen to speak with an experienced Electrical Engineer who is technically strong, commercially aware and confident taking responsibility for their work.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience working within a building services or MEP consultancy environment.
• Strong electrical design experience across commercial or other complex building projects.
• Good knowledge of electrical distribution, lighting, small power and associated building-services systems.
• Experience producing calculations, specifications, technical reports and design drawings.
• The ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients and wider design teams.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
