Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of electrical building services design across a variety of projects. You will produce calculations, specifications, reports and detailed design drawings, and act as a client-facing representative in meetings and project discussions.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee delivery to meet quality, programme and budget, review outputs from the wider team, and contribute to CDM compliance and ISO

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership (CIBSE/IET).
• Proficiency with Amtech, Relux and Dialux for design calculations.
• Experience with AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit.

The Role

• Lead the delivery of electrical building services design across a variety of projects
• Produce calculations, specifications, reports and detailed design drawings
• Act as a key client-facing representative in meetings and project discussions
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, programme and budget compliance
• Review and check technical output from the wider team
• Contribute to CDM compliance, project risk management and ISO quality standards

What They're Looking For

• Degree qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND considered)
• Chartered or working towards chartership (CIBSE or IET)
• Strong proficiency with design tools including Amtech, Relux and Dialux
• Experience with AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit
• Confident client-facing communicator with strong coordination skills
• Experience with surveys and spatial coordination of plant areas
• Strong ownership mindset and commitment to design quality
