Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead building services design, taking a key role in project delivery and client engagement while helping grow the local team.

You will produce calculations, specifications, and drawings, mentor junior engineers, and ensure quality, programme and budget compliance across diverse projects in the Birmingham hub.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND considered).
• Chartered status or working towards chartership (CIBSE or IET).
• Proficiency with Amtech, Relux and Dialux for lighting and power design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit.
• Strong client-facing communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of electrical building services design across projects.
• Produce calculations, specifications, reports and detailed drawings.
• Act as client-facing representative in meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Oversee project delivery with quality, programme and budget controls.
• Review and check outputs from the team.
• Contribute to CDM, risk management and ISO standards.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Lead the delivery of electrical building services design across a variety of projects
• Produce calculations, specifications, reports and detailed design drawings
• Act as a key client-facing representative in meetings and project discussions
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, programme and budget compliance
• Review and check technical output from the wider team
• Contribute to CDM compliance, project risk management and ISO quality standards

• Degree qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND considered)
• Chartered or working towards chartership (CIBSE or IET)
• Strong proficiency with design tools including Amtech, Relux and Dialux
• Experience with AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit
• Confident client-facing communicator with strong coordination skills
• Experience with surveys and spatial coordination of plant areas
