Job summary

Fyba Talent seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for the Water Sector to lead electrical design packages for water infrastructure, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance while mentoring junior designers.

The role requires extensive LV design experience, a relevant qualification, IT proficiency, and active professional registration, with Chartered status preferred. You will coordinate with CAD teams, suppliers, and project meetings, estimating hours and ensuring standards compliance.

Qualifications

• 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry.
• Significant experience in LV design.
• Graduate qualification or HND.
• Good level of IT capability.
• Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
• Produce electrical design calculations and drawings for the water industry.
• Direct and develop CAD technicians, junior designers and graduates.
• Prepare scopes for, direct and check the output of subcontract electrical design teams.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
• Ensure project changes affecting design packages are fully implemented and recorded.
• Estimate the hours required for design packages.
• Present and attend design presentations and project meetings.
