Job summary

Rullion in Manchester is seeking an electrical design engineer to support water and wastewater projects across the UK. You will work within a multidisciplinary design team to develop electrical concepts from concept through to construction.

You will produce LV design deliverables, prepare calculations and drawings, and collaborate with senior engineers, CAD technicians, and suppliers to ensure designs meet safety and client requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' electrical design experience within the UK water industry.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience producing LV electrical designs for water/wastewater projects.
• Working knowledge of British Standards and water industry design practices.
• Experience using AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical engineering designs that meet safety, quality and client requirements.
• Prepare electrical design calculations, drawings, reports and technical specifications for water and wastewater projects.
• Develop LV electrical designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Work closely with CAD technicians to produce accurate and coordinated design drawings.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers, manufacturers and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, client specifications and company procedures.
• Assist with design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
• Support the implementation and recording of design changes throughout project delivery.
• Contribute to estimating design hours for allocated tasks.
• Attend client, supplier and internal design meetings as required.
• Continue developing technical knowledge through mentoring, CPD and professional development.

To support the delivery of high-quality electrical engineering designs for water and wastewater projects across the UK. • Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and water industry design practices.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary design environments.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience with ICA, control systems or telemetry.
• Knowledge of ATEX design principles.
• Experience using Amtech, Trimble ProDesign or similar electrical design software.
• Familiarity with BIM processes and Common Data Environments (ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar).
