Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its water industry projects. You will design LV distribution, MCCs, control systems, instrumentation, automation and associated cabling, ensuring alignment with project scope, programme, and client requirements.

Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will support proposals and project cost estimates, attend design reviews, and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience within the water, utilities, manufacturing, or process engineering sectors.
• Experience producing electrical designs for LV systems, MCCs, controls, instrumentation, or automation projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Amtech/Trimble ProDesign.

Responsibilities

• Produce outline and detailed electrical designs and specifications for LV distribution, MCCs, control systems, instrumentation, automation, and associated cabling systems
• Support the preparation of technical proposals and project cost estimates
• Ensure design solutions meet project scope, programme, budget, and client requirements
• Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and technicians
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
• Attend design reviews and project meetings, monitoring progress and resolving technical issues
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications
