Job summary

Ethos Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Birmingham office and work with our Dublin team on hyperscale data centre projects across EMEA. You will own delivery from concept to handover, build strong client relationships, and ensure QA standards are met.

You will lead electrical design across sectors, coordinate a multidisciplinary team, and mentor junior engineers while adopting innovative, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' electrical engineering experience in building services.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEng or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential.
• Proven experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience across commercial, healthcare, life sciences, or data centres.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on projects from concept through construction and handover.
• Champion design standards and drive innovative, sustainable solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors as primary electrical contact.
• Prepare specifications, tender packages, reports, and recommendations.
• Oversee design checks and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Develop project scopes with design teams and clients.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and graduates.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, and site inspections.
