Job summary

Ethos in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Electrical to lead the design, specification and delivery of electrical building services in live data centre environments across mission-critical facilities. You will ensure safety, quality and adherence to high technical standards while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in building services, with 3+ years in data centre projects.
• Experience in live data centre environments with brownfield upgrades or phased refurbishments.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design for live data centre environments, including M&E upgrades and capacity increases.
• Develop retrofit strategies, including tie-ins to live systems, outage planning, and resilience design.
• Conduct due diligence of existing facilities and prepare technical drawings, reports, and tenders.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients, contractors, and BIM teams to avoid operational disruption.
• Support business development with proposals and technical strategies for retrofit opportunities across EMEA.
