Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading international engineering consultancy’s Critical Systems division in London. You will lead electrical design for data centre and mission-critical facilities, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust electrical building services.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Substantial experience in electrical building services design within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Experience managing small to medium-sized projects and supervising engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and building services design.
• Experience producing electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of Revit and an understanding of BIM-based design coordination.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing project priorities.
• A proactive approach to technical problem-solving and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Leading the electrical design and delivery of data centre and other mission-critical projects.
• Producing and reviewing electrical calculations, schematics, layouts, specifications and technical reports.
• Managing and coordinating the work of junior and intermediate engineers.
• Overseeing design quality and ensuring compliance with relevant technical standards and project requirements.
• Liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Monitoring project programmes, resources and budgets to support efficient project delivery.
• Attending design coordination meetings, site inspections and technical reviews.
• Identifying technical challenges and developing practical, commercially appropriate engineering solutions.
• Supporting the professional development of less experienced team members.
• Collaborating with colleagues across international offices on major projects and global design programmes.
