Job summary

RED Engineering Design seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for its Newcastle office, with flexibility for London or Bicester as needed. You will manage multiple medium-sized projects, develop electrical designs, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with health and safety and BS standards.

The role emphasizes client-facing responsibilities, mentoring junior staff and delivering robust, energy-efficient electrical installations across building services.

Qualifications

• BEng and MSc in electrical engineering with relevant experience.
• Professional registration or working towards Chartered Engineer status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of electrical installations for medium-sized projects.
• Develop and specify control systems, instrumentation, and operating software for building services.
• Review existing electrical installations, perform surveys, tests and reporting.
• Ensure designs meet functional specs, customer requirements, and industry standards.
• Provide technical content assurance and guidance for trainees and engineers.
• Liaise with clients, professional teams and contractor teams during projects.
