Job summary

Gleeds is expanding its M&E team in Oxford, inviting engineers who are degree-qualified and actively pursuing chartered status with CIBSE/IET. You will contribute to design work for multidisciplinary projects, using AutoCAD or Revit to develop efficient, compliant solutions across private and public sector clients.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineers actively working towards chartered status.
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Experience in a surveying/design consultancy or building services environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering design services for projects up to £10m.
• Perform engineering calculations including cable sizing and lighting.
• Prepare specifications and drawings for projects.
• Evaluate contractor design proposals.
• Quality monitoring and site installation inspections.
• Conduct condition surveys and lifecycle appraisals.

About this opportunity

The current M&E team has a rapidly expanding profile and continues to succeed securing prominent national frameworks. Projects are spread across both the private and public sectors with many other blue-chip clients. As a result, there are opportunities to progress quickly within a vibrant and successful team environment.

You will be actively involved in assisting in the delivery of the following services:

• Design services for projects up to £10m in value
• Engineering calculations including Cable sizing, lighting etc
• Preparation of specifications and drawings
• Evaluation of contractor’s design proposals
• Quality monitoring / site installation inspections
• Condition Surveys and strategic life cycle appraisals.

Working with a diverse range of clients - retail, education, commercial, leisure and health, for example - you will have the opportunity to be part of the team on a number of exciting projects.

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge And Key Skills

• We are looking to recruit enthusiastic Engineers who are degree qualified and actively working towards chartered status with CIBSE/IET.
• You should be capable of using suitable design software and AutoCAD/Revit.
• You will have experience working in a similar surveying / design consultancy practice, but candidates with experience with Building Services contractors will be considered.
• You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus enthusiasm and ambition.
