Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Ivybridge seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to own technical delivery across building and infrastructure projects, coordinating client relationships and mentoring junior staff. The role combines hands-on design with project leadership in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will produce robust electrical designs, review calculations, and support bids while ensuring compliance with UK standards.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification with appropriate industry experience.
• Significant experience delivering electrical building services design projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards, UK Regulations and industry codes.
• Experience using electrical engineering calculation, design and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical design work across projects from building services to high-voltage systems.
• Lead the running and delivery of medium to large-scale projects.
• Act as key client contact during development, design and coordination of electrical services.
• Deliver design and specification work across relevant design stages.
• Mentor engineers and graduate staff, and support bids and proposals.
• Review calculations, drawings and documents for standards compliance.
• Attend client and site locations as required.
