Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Ivybridge is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical building services design across a varied project portfolio, from concept through delivery. You will undertake design work, manage medium to large‑scale schemes, liaise with clients and contractors, review calculations, and mentor junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers an independent consultancy environment with opportunities for bids, development, and chartership support

Qualifications

BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
HNC/HND or equivalent with industry experience.
Significant experience delivering electrical building services design projects.
Strong knowledge of British Standards, UK Regulations and industry codes.
Experience with RIBA design stages and project delivery.
Chartered Engineer status desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Undertake electrical design work across projects from building services to high‑voltage systems.
Lead medium to large‑scale projects from design through delivery.
Act as a key client contact during development and coordination of services.
Provide technical review and quality control across projects.
Mentor junior engineers and support graduate development.
Support bids, proposals and resource planning.
