Job summary

Build Recruitment are seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer for a Plymouth-based building services consultancy. You will lead electrical design from concept to completion, own technical deliverables, and mentor junior engineers while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

Strong experience in electrical building services design.
Senior or Principal Engineer level experience.
Knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarms.
Concept to detailed design delivery experience.
Understanding of British Standards and Building Regulations.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Ability to lead projects and provide technical direction.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design of building services projects from concept through to completion.
Take technical ownership and ensure high-quality designs.
Produce and review electrical calculations, specs, drawings and reports.
Engage with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors and other stakeholders.
Manage client relationships and attend project meetings.
Provide mentoring to junior and senior engineers.
Review designs for compliance with standards and regulations.
Support delivery, proposals and business development; help grow the electrical engineering team.
