Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer for a Plymouth-based role in building services. The position offers a salary of £48,000–£65,000 DOE with a strong benefits package and opportunities for technical leadership.

You will lead electrical design across multiple building services projects, mentor colleagues, and ensure designs comply with BS standards. The role suits an engineer capable of managing client relationships and driving project delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience at Senior or Principal Engineer level.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading the electrical design of building services projects from concept through to completion.
• Taking technical responsibility for projects and ensuring designs meet high standards.
• Producing and reviewing electrical calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Collaborating with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Managing client relationships and attending design meetings.
• Mentoring junior and senior engineers.
