Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an ambitious Electrical Design Engineer to join London's fast-growing M&E consultancy, delivering high-quality electrical building services from concept to completion and collaborating with clients, architects and the engineering team.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years' experience, a degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, and proficiency in Amtech, Dialux and AutoCAD, with Revit experience highly desirable and strong communication skills for client

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a Building Services consultancy.
• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services systems across Data Centres, Commercial, Residential and Education sectors.
• Produce electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Design LV distribution, lighting, small power, emergency lighting, fire alarms and related systems.
• Coordinate designs with MEP, architects and structural engineers using BIM/Revit where appropriate.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and design team meetings.
• Support project delivery through all RIBA stages.
• Ensure designs comply with current British Standards and Building Regulations.

You'll be responsible for delivering high–quality electrical building services designs from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects and the wider engineering team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing electrical building services systems across a range of sectors including Data Centres, Commercial, Residential and Education.
• Producing electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Designing LV distribution, lighting, small power, emergency lighting, fire alarms and other building services systems.
• Coordinating designs with mechanical engineers, architects and structural engineers using BIM/Revit where appropriate.
• Attending client meetings, site visits and design team meetings.
• Supporting project delivery through all RIBA stages.
• Ensuring designs comply with current British Standards and Building Regulations.

The Ideal Candidate

• 3–5 years' experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a Building Services consultancy.
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience Data Centres
• Proficient in Amtech, Dialux and AutoCAD, with Revit experience being highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients and project teams.
• Able to attend project sites across London as required.
• A proactive mindset with the ambition to progress into a senior or leadership position.
