Morgan Hunt UK Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a leading MEP engineering and sustainability consultancy, ideally based in Edinburgh but open to Glasgow.

You will oversee electrical design on high-quality projects across education, healthcare, leisure and defence, lead client relationships, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Significant experience in electrical design within building services consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of UK regulations, BS 7671 and CIBSE guidance.
• Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech or Dialux.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and coordination of building services from concept to completion.
• Manage multiple projects to time, budget and high standards.
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and review design calculations, drawings and reports.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and sustainability targets.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a leading MEP engineering and sustainability consultancy based ideally in Edinburgh but open to Glasgow also. This a well-known, popular brand with an excellent market reputation. You will be responsible for overseeing electrical design on a range of high quality projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, leisure, and defence. There will be clear routes for progression as you develop your career in the industry. Our client would also consider an experienced electrical candidate operating close to or at Associate level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and coordination of building services systems from concept through to completion
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high technical standards
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Prepare and review detailed design calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability targets

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it)
• Significant experience in electrical design within building services consultancy
