Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Fareham

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to advance your career within a forward-thinking and expanding technical team? This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across multiple sectors, including defence, marine, healthcare, energy, and transport.

About the Role
You will take ownership of electrical design projects from concept through to production, working alongside a collaborative engineering team. Your focus will be on developing robust, high-quality electrical hardware solutions for specialised equipment. Responsibilities include preparing design documentation, prototype build support, testing, and liaising with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure smooth handover.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer:

• Translate client requirements into detailed electrical hardware designs

• Apply design for manufacture and testing best practices

• Prepare and review technical documentation and bills of materials

• Select components and engage with suppliers for technical collaboration

• Present designs and findings during project reviews

• Ensure designs meet relevant safety and electrical standards
  
  

Essential Skills & Experience of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

• Significant experience designing electrical systems for a range of projects

• Proficient with electrical CAD software such as SolidWorks Electrical or similar

• Experience working within regulated industries or on safety-critical projects

• Knowledge of electrical and safety compliance standards

• Eligible for UK security clearance
  
  

Desirable:

• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g. BS EN, Def-Stan, EMC)

• Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001

• Understanding of computer systems and interfaces
